First off let me say thanks for stopping by.
My name is Ron. At 10 years old I was ran over by a lawnmower and had major damage to my right leg. I received well over 36 surgeries on my leg to try to correct the damage that had been done. The doctors did all they could and set me free to see how things went. I dealt with the pain, disfigurement and infections for 20 years. Because of my lack of ability to walk well and the pain of walking I spent 20 years letting life pass me by. By April 2008 I had all of it I could take and chose to have my lower right leg amputated.
While I was living life with my “bad” leg, I had plenty of time to learn all I could about computers, tech, cellphones, etc., etc. you get the point. I have always been the funny, tattooed, geek and by being funny and knowing a lot about tech, that was my way of dealing with my disability and helping people realize I didn’t need 2 perfect legs to be a cool guy. Over the years I came out of my shell slowly and started getting involved with social marketing/blogging and fell in love. That was my outlet, where my leg would not be the first thing people saw.
After having my leg amputated (April 2008) I realized for so many years I had just sat back and let life pass me by and I was not getting any younger. That was the changing point in my life. At that exact point is when I decided to stop hiding my “NEW” leg and show it off, use it to my advantage. So, that is what I have done! I can say now that I am a proud amputee and I didn’t know if that day would ever come.
So on to the new me! As I said before I am a tech guy, but have always had a passion for cellphones/smartphones so that’s what I talk most about. I do get on my rants from time to time and I do touch on a lot of other tech subjects such as mobile apps, pc’s, mac’s, etc. I also still love blogging and social marketing is still a big part of my life. I now use my leg to my advantage. You would be amazed at how well people remember the guy with the cool leg that has no problem telling some good amputee jokes and watching people’s reactions when I tell them it got bit off by a goat (not really).
So what am I looking to get out of my blog, life, career, etc.?
- To keep people informed on news and upcoming releases in the phone and tech world.
- To meet people in the industry.
- To give people a good laugh from time to time.
- To give people a glimpse into my crazy life.
Lastly, I am hoping by starting this blog that some outstanding website or company could fined a use for a really smart, really cool, really dedicated, one legged guy that knows his stuff. I guess in life we all strive to be happy and some get it, some don’t, me I won’t settle for less. So I hope that through this and other social outlets that some company might find me as a good fit for them. I’m easy, I will start on the ground floor because I know with a chance to prove myself you will see what I see in myself and if all else fails I work cheap….LOL
